Cuatro pagos; four singular origins in one region, the Rioja. Our estates were named for their in-house identification according to the geographical location existing between them: Northern Estate, Southern Estate, Eastern Estate and Western Estate. The Eastern Estate, situated in a fairly even terrain and facing south east, with alluvial soils and average rainfall count, is characterised by its ability to lend the wines made with these grapes a fruity character, in which the floral aromas and other primary components come to the fore.Intensity is the fundamental characteristic of the Southern Estate, a flat terrain with stony soil, whose dryness and great fluctuations in temperature gave rise to fullbodied hearty wines. The Northern Estate, with softer temperatures and situated in an area of uneven topography, produces wines for laying down, thanks to its high content in tannins and elevated degree of acidity. The principal characteristic of the wines from the Western Estate is their elegance and capacity to harmonise the qualities obtained from the other Estates. From this union of the best of each Estate we offer you “Quatro Pagos”(Four Estates), from the latin term “quattouor”.
