Montesc is a wine of great singularity offering an intense
colour and aroma with subtle hints of new oak barrel, although
it does not attain the complexity of the other wines in the
range. A special selection of the grapes confers a soft fruity
flavour. Grapes in their pure refined state with a period
of 4 to 6 months in the barrel. An authentic “Rioja
Oak” for connoisseurs.
Tempranillo, Graciano and Grenache Noir
13 % Vol.
Old vines with low yields, selected from vineyards located
in four different districts, chosen, after years of research,
for their particular soils and mesoclimates and which constitute
the four pagos or estates whose grapes give rise to our wines.
Harvesting takes place throughout the month of October, with
each plot being harvested in its ideal moment of ripeness.
The fruit is picked using small crates of 15kgs and then rapidly
transferred to the wine cellar where those clusters which do
not meet the ideal characteristics are removed from the sorting
table.
Aged from 4 to 6 months in new, American oak and French oak casks made in
different cooperages and from forests of different origins. Each year, in accordance
with the special characteristics of each harvest, the wine remains in the barrel
for the optimum perio of time needed in order to obtain a perfectly rounded
wine, smooth in the mouth, in which the fruit takes precedence, accompanied
by the nuances conferred by the barrel.
Bright garnet red in colour denoting youth and freshness. Intense aroma where the notes of red fruits intermingle with fine nuances of new barrel, blending all these elements in harmonious balance. In the mouth it is fine, gentle and soft, with good volume and persistence. Pleasant and suggestive aftertaste.
